Battle at or for Saporoschje continued for some time. The 123ID arrived there Oktober 1943 persued by Russian armour and remained there till February 1944.

Surplus personel from the Air force and navy were transfered to the army during later stages of the war. Pre-war there was a lot of recruitment by the air force and navy from the army.
