a pilot buried in scotland

Post by jh »

I do not know if I am in the right area. I do not speak German.

A German pilot is buried in my local churchyard.

His name is Gerd Hansmann. His mother was still alive 10 years ago.

Is there any way of contacting his descendants?

I place a flower on his grave[ the red poppy] every Novemeber 11.

Best wishes to all from Scotland.

Thank you very much Bruno for your fast reply. That is the correct airman.

His Date of birth is correct etc.

My problem is that I speak virtually no German so phoning someone would only cause confusion.

I will google for the Berlin Directory and see how many Hansmanns there are.

I take it you got this information from an online record in Germany?

My e mail in Scotland is [email protected].

Thanks again.

I can guess at much of the German entry for Gerd but would you mind translating it for me?
