Mediterranean

Book is good. Dates, losses on both sides. Some nice color profiles of aircraft. Got mine from Squadron Mail Order! Check out the website I mentioned, which has also a great deal of information regarding Luftwaffe operations in conjunction with Kriegsmarine operations. North Atlantic, British Isles,...

Jurgen Rohwer's "Chronik des Seekrieges, 1939-45" Website. In German but highly detailed!

Also, Harold Thiele's new book, "Luftwaffe Aerial Torpedo Aircraft and
Operations". Nice work, well detailed. Got mine from Squadron Mail

Best!

Luftwaffe units operating against Yugoslav Partisans

Good evening everyone...

During the many campaigns against Tito's Yugoslav Partisans (1941-44), were any Ju 88 bomber or reconnaissance units involved?

Did recently see couple of sources listing 1. (F) Aufklarungsgruppe 122 in Croatia during late 1943.

Many thanks in advance,

Raid on Port of Bari, Italy, December 2, 1943

tjk, Thanks very much for the information. I was told earlier that elements of Kampfgeschwaders 30, 54 and 76 participated in the raid. Was unaware that KG's 26, 77 and 100 took part as well. In the book, does author mention any particular bomber pilots that played a leading role? I have seen the na...

Good evening to all! Does anyone know, or know where I can find out, what Kampfgeschwader (Bomber Groups) participated in the raid on the Allied port of Bari, Italy, evening of December 2nd, 1943? For such highly successful attack - 17 ships sunk, 65,000 BRT - I have thusfar found out almost nothing...

Luftwaffe's best "ace"

Hello everyone! Am a newcomer and would like to join in... Agree with those that feel that Marseille was the best, in a class by himself. Daring, willingness to take on huge odds, superlative flying skills and an expert marksman. With regards to aerial marksmanship, Hartmann, Rall and Rudorffer were...

Ju 88 "Ace" Werner Baumbach

Hello everyone! This is my first time to this forum. I have recently been reading about Werner Baumbach and his exploits during World War II. I would love to build, paint and detail - with appropriate aircraft code letters - one of his Ju 88 bombers. Can anyone tell me what particular "Staffel&...

Heinrich Paepke

Langemarck: From what I have read recently, Hauptmann Heinrich Paepcke was one of the most successful Ju-88 "aces" of the early years of World War II. When Germany commenced operations in Norway in April 1940, was Staffelkapitan of 7/III/Kampgeschwader 30. Over Dunkirk, he and his crew san...
