Ave,

I haven't read about this in quite some time, but there were an abundance of Stukas in this operation. There were U-boats causing trouble as well as Italian naval frogmen, who were most impressive. There was a very devastating aerial attack on the allied invasion forces of Sicily in July 1943 (Operation Husky). Sorry because this is so sketchy, but it is a start.

Luftwaffe Attacks against Allied Convoys in Med., 1942-43

Jurgen Rohwer's "Chronik des Seekrieges, 1939-45" Website. In German but highly detailed!

Also, Harold Thiele's new book, "Luftwaffe Aerial Torpedo Aircraft and
Operations". Nice work, well detailed. Got mine from Squadron Mail
Order!

Best!

Details of Thiele's book?

M.REISING,

How much detail is given on German aerial torpedo ops?

I read what the book is about and see it is 128 pages, but want to find out how good the description of individual operations are: does it tell number of planes used, what the targets were, what their opposition was, losses, etc?

Just want to know before buying.....thanks.

Book is good. Dates, losses on both sides. Some nice color profiles of
aircraft. Got mine from Squadron Mail Order!

Check out the website I mentioned, which has also a great deal of
information regarding Luftwaffe operations in conjunction with Kriegsmarine operations. North Atlantic, British Isles, Baltic
Sea and the Soviet Black Sea as well as the Mediterranean.

Best!
