The Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler Division was withdrawn from the Eastern Front from 15 Jul 42 and moved to Western Europe for a major refit over the period Aug-Nov. I am trying to confirm the identy of one of the LSSAH's units in in Oct 1942 which is simply described as:
"6. E. Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler"
Is this common abbreviation for one of the regts or units in the Division?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
