Long time lurker, first time poster.
Can anyone explain the difference between the Iron Cross 1st Class for Bravery and the Iron Cross Second Class for bravery? Not the difference in the medal its self, but in the requirement/qualification for each.

EK II Criteria:
1) For outstanding service to Service personnel and for bravery in the face of the enemy
2) The Cross for a higher grade must be preceded by the award of this grade.
EK I Criteria:
To have distinguished oneself three or more times than required for the Second Class award.
