I would like to make some minor additions to the excellent work done by Hiltraut
,
and some (hopefully interesting
) remarks as well.
First the remarks :
1) The name of the town on Image 3 (the Bekleidungsvermerke) should be Frankstadt,
a town near Friedeck-Friedberg, at that time Protektorat Böhmen u. Mähren. According
to Tessin, this is were the Pz.Gren.Ers.Btl. 10 was transferred to after August 1941
from its Home-garrison St.Pölten.
2) Maybe not everyone is familiar with the term "Kapitulantenhandgeld".
(At least I wasn't, until I ran across it recently

).
This was a one time bonus for those soldiers who signed a contract for longterm duty.
It was 100 RM for those who agreed to serve for 4 1/2 years,
and in case of 12 years duty it was 300 RM !
