On my Kriegsmarine Koastal Artillery re-enactment website I have some audio file I recorded with my good friend and Uboot vetern Edgar about his time in the uboot service. He started out on U650 till an accident sent him to hospital which actually saved his life because he was unable to put to sea with his comrades being in the hospital and U650 was sunk in the North Atlantic with all hands on board. After being released from hospital he was then assigned to U901 which he served out the rest of the war till his surrender. Here is the link:
