Artillerie Regiment 81 - Magierow 1941.

Post by tigre »

Hello to all :D; a short story and a little inquiry...............

Magierow - Jun 1941.

On June 25, 1941 both regiments of the 97. Le ID continued the advance and seized the Jaworniki Heights, an objective that was retained until dusk.

Almost immediately began the Soviet counterattack, supported even by heavy tanks, which lasted until the following morning, June 26, 1941 and could be rejected with the support of AR 81. Indeed here was engaged the Soviet 8. Tank Division and during the night of 25 to 26 June 1941, the Soviet 15 Tank Rgt attacked Magierow with 54 tanks and destroyed a battery of 75mm guns, and taken documentation and prisoners from the AR 81 but losing other 19 tanks in the fight.

Anyone here owns the document MS # D-251 Organization, Advance and Combat of the 81st Artillery Regiment In 1941 16 Pages. 1947 and was written by Generalleutnant Josef Prinner. It covers the Organization as part of the 97th Light Division in the Bad Toelz-Tegernsee area; the advance into eastern Galicia; and the tank battle at Magierov. Thanks in advance. Raúl M 8).
