Help ID This Waffen SS Soldat ?

Hi, I would like to hear your opinions on this photo, likely theatre, unit etc, can anyone put a name to him? Thanks Jim

Well, this is really difficult to make such an identification ! The only thing which can be written about this soldier is that he is wearing a M44 uniform which is in a such bad state that it makes me guess this picture was taken during the late summer of 1944. The beard can also make me think that this man was on the frontline for a long period. Otherwise, the SS-unit and the place where this photo was taken are impossible to determine.
