Hello
I am trying to discover what the defences looked like for German troops in Army Group Centre in 1944. They had been stationary for quite some time, so the defences would be well developed. According to an Allied Intelligence article at Lone Sentry, the German Elastic Defence had switched to using continuous trench lines rather than independent strong points.
I have plenty of detail on what individual trenches or weaposn pits looked like or were constructed but nothing for the level above, how they were formed into a VSS, DVS and HKL lines, how many lines there were, the spacing and how they were used.
I do have some Russian maps that show this level of detail but no German ones.
Anyone have any articles, images or maps that could help?
cheers
