Italian Submarine "Emo", Bardia

Post by gttf »

Hello,
I'm looking for infos relevant to an episode occurred on January, 2nd, 1942: Italian submarine "Emo" was performing a transport mission to Bardia (Lybia), but entering the harbour, was shelled by by english artillery as the 8th Army had just seized the town. She answered with her guns and was able to leave.
Has anyone some detail about this action ?

By the way, were there other actions against shore targets by italian submarines, during the II WW ?

Thanks in advance

Fabrizio

Hi, I found this link about the history of submarine Emo (in italian), but nothing is reported about this event, I hope it will be useful anyway.
