My uncle used to have a penpal in the 1930's. I have a letter he sent to my uncle (somewhere) telling my uncle about the Hitler Jugend.
I always wondered what happened to him. His name was Erwin Fernholz.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello John!
Here's information from http://www.volksbund.de/ on one Erwin Fernholz that was born in 1910 and died in 1944. Maybe too old to be your Uncle's HJ penpal from the thirties?
Regards,
Krollspell

Thanks Doc, I will have to find the letter to see when it was written to make that determination. What was the cut off age to be out of the Jugend?
Also, would it list the unit he was with?
Thanks again!
