Leather map case...

Post by TimoWr »

Can somebody please tell me if there was a function in which a Rottenführer would carry one of those typical leather belt-carried map cases? Or was this only for officers and nco's? Any pics known of such a rank with a map case? Melders/Kradmelders (dispatch riders) come to mind but I haven't seen evidence yet.

Thanks in advance,

Timo

Any of the examples cited would have been correct, but a Rottenfuhrer would have worn one when the commanding NCO of his zug would have been killed or wounded.
