Re: The Sd. Kfz. 234 Thread!!!
Hello Ruy 20. PD had 3 x 234/3 they received in October 1944. You see them also on strength reports for November and December 1944 and in the Panzerlage 30.12.1944 by Gen.Qu, Gen.d.Kraftfahrwesens. When they surrendered at Pilsen in 1945, they at least had one left, plus this 234 with Schwebelafette...

Re: Forgotten AFVs--The Official Sd. Kfz. 250/9 Thread!
Hello Dave Can you hear me? Comrades, take away the defibrilator. The Commissar has regained some senses, it seems. http://www.kit-modelljournal.de/html/militar-modell.html Our Martin figures proinently in the article about the 234 conversion. It's based on two pictures in a recent Panzerwrecks (arg...

Re: Forgotten AFVs--The Official Sd. Kfz. 250/9 Thread!
Aw, too late! Tom, chances are that this information will be found in the upcoming Heimdal volume on LAH, so keep your eyes open. Martin, I think of the Wolpertinger article (234 marrying a Lynx turret) in a recent German military modeller's mag. Incidentally, I just browsed the local news shop yest...

Hello Jason
Coverage in Heimdal is mediocre and basically a rehash of Ritgen. If you have the Ritgen book, you have most of the information readily available. And if you got the "Panzer Voran!" magazine, you got the better photos, too.
Cheers

Re: Forgotten AFVs--The Official Sd. Kfz. 250/9 Thread!
Hello Martin Tremendous compilation on the 250/9. As a "sideproduct" on my trail to hunt down Pumas, I can add a piece of trivia from OKW Waffenamt: The 7 Sdkfz 250/9 delivered to 9. SS H in November 1944 were all 250/9. They brought the unit again to full strenght with 16 x 250/9, the Beo...

Re: The Sd. Kfz. 234 Thread!!!
Hello all Thanks for the recognition. Hours spent on brooding reports this was. One just can't pull this out of the sleeve. I still have some old mails by David John Constable and Piet Duits from 2001 that helped me to put my research on track. I wouldn't have met them without this forum. With all i...

Re: The Sd. Kfz. 234 Thread!!!
Hello Seemingly I can't edit my old post on the Puma allocations anymore. So I will make a repost here with the additional information I could gather in the last two years. I think I'm pretty close to truth now. Allocation list of Sd.Kfz 234/2 The following list is made from the allocation reports f...

Hello Jason
Yes, they were issued. There even is photographic evidence, eg a series shot in the Russian winter. I think the Ritgen book, the Heimdal on Panzer Lehr and Panzer Voran! (French publication) contain some of these photographs.
Cheers

Hello Oh, I'm calm and I think I expressed my concern in an appropriate way. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you answered the statement that the army was a place for indoctrination with a paragraph of the NS state proclaiming the apolitical nature of the army. In the context you placed it I'm still und...

Jan Henrik Do you seriously mean that § 26 Wehrgesetz is an argument against the indoctrination of the Wehrmacht by the National Socialist movement? For a start, we should read what is actually there: suspension in the exertion of political rights (mainly vote and election) and the freedom o...

Hello There were indeed Lorraine conversions with the 10,5cm and the 15cm gun in 21. PD. The 10,5cm variant has however no connection to KG Luck. They belonged to II. and III./Pz.Art.Rgt. 155 and this unit is listed in no OOB I'm aware of as belonging to KG Luck. Total was 24 in four batteries of 6 ...
