Happy Birthday, Uncle Addi

Post by Einsamer_Wolf »

As I am sure many of you are well aware, today would be Adolf Hitler's Birthday. This same day a friendly match between Germany and England had been cancelled some years ago for this same matter. The date has been committed to memory because the day the Columbine massacre occured, a quirky co-worker at a collection agency I had worked at in the year off between college and law school, said out of the blue "today is a special day." I asked him how so, he just repeated what he said, then said, "just kidding." I thought about it a moment, and I said, "Actually you are right. It is Hitler's Birthday." I explained I knew because a couple of years ago England cancelled a friendly match with Germany that was inadverently scheduled on this day. Also, two members of the Berlin Philharmonic were fired for toasting (in jest) this occasion while visiting Israel. Later that day, the Columbine massacre occured. Curious that it was in Hitler's honor given that one of the monsters was Jewish.
In any event, today is the day, and thought I should post this, reminding contributors.

I do not wish Adolf Hitler a birthday. He was the man that ruined the world.

I think you will find that Ronald McDonald has had more effect on the world lately.

I do not wish Hitler a Happy Birthday. I just use the expression to signify that today would be his birthday, if he were alive today. Perhaps one should to Unhappy Birthday by the Smiths, in his honor.

On this piece of shits birthday one should think of those that as a result of his birth did not live to have any more.

As unkown kids, youngsters, we were walking the streets, singing Die Fahne hoch, after some (many) german beers...

The whole neighborhood was on alarm, police was called, we were arrested.

Around 1971/1973, drunken youngsters, we had to spend 24+ hours in the cell for this, thats it!

I am anti-Hitler also, but in the sort of way that Guderian, Manstein, and many of the officer corp were. But that is another matter.

Hitler only personified the angst of that generation of Germans. That he defied the norms of German cultural morality and failed as a leader in war doesn't affect his fundemental connection to the conditions in that society that enabled him to rise to power.

This is all true, but I was never able to see the more than 600 minutes long parade, of this more than 10 hours lasting parade to Hitler...

I know portions of this, the "Vorbeimarsch der Leibstandarte", the so called "Fahnenparade der Wehrmacht", the mounted "Trompeter - Korps of the LSSAH", and a lot more...

What about the other more than 4 hours?

Well, as I stated, I am anti-Hitler, though the matter is more of a mixed bag for me than someone like Abraham Foxman. Though I am most symapthetic to National Socialism as an ideology, two works have rendered me forever skeptical of Hilter--no matter how ardently I endorse the German cause otherwise. One is Manstein's Lost Victories, particularly his chapter on Hitler as a Leader. The crass disregard he showed, time and again, for the German People and particularly the German soldier is nothing short of astounding. The other of course is der Untergang. Again, utterly callous, crass disregard for the German people and the German soldier. Other, more minor revelations are revealed in Guderian's memoirs, as well as Knight's Cross: Life of Erwin Rommel.
So my post certainly did not intend to honor the Fuehrer's birthday; rather just acknowledge it with a slight twist of derisive jest.

PS: Incidentally, did anyone read that the some kids wanted to give an encore to Columbine, but were apprehended because they shot their mouths of to some woman?

hi, I'm sure some skinheads have been celebrating recetly. They really should read some serious stuff like the chapter on Hitler in Guderian's memoirs, after all, Guderian is not the "left wing mass media". I'm sure they would be shocked at what they read. 8)

No, kids here try to handle the handicapped brothers and sisters, 24/7/365.

This is so much okay, but I did not see the whole parade at all...???

95% of this material is banned, forbidden in germany, see "Riefenstahl".

The Columbine massacre is USA related, to the gun laws, to the so called "constitutian", to Bush, and to whom it may concern...

The Charlton Heston played a role in all this, a senile old fart, with his hand on a gun, not even able to piss at himself, @#%!!!!

What lies. Gun control is taking away people's rights. For what do you not allow to have weapons? Why slaves and prisoners. When the government disarms the populace then you live in tyranny gentlemen. Taking away guns will not stop killings because all it does is encourages the black market where most guns used in killings are bought anyways and secondly people just resort to other weapons such as knives, swords, etc.
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

Aha...

You want to see me with a G3, an older Stgw44/45 around the house, patroling, watching the neighbors, no, sorry!

Here is NO crime, no burglar, no violence, this is Germany, not the USA!

Michael

BTW, I have a gun, illegal, and I was never blamed for this Walther from my grandpa...
