U.S. I'd volunteer for the Army, join the Airborne as a rifleman.

Probably doesn't matter. I can type 80-90 words a minute, so no matter which army drafted me, I'd end up being a clerk.
Cheers,

Patrick

When I was single, I had three theories on raising children. Now I have three children and no theories.

I would be a mountainguide like allways. Prefere the Gebirgsjaeger on the 1945 Italy/France front or the French, much famous climbers from both sides have made there first contacts there and the respect for eachother was great. The stories are well knowed in my job about French that saw German climbers doing a "premiere" to a top via a new route and vice versa. They observed each others climbing with binoculors and wrote about it.
Finnish skitroops were nice to.

if i had no family to care for:
sign up to the Luftwaffe, flying towards Sweden due to a "compass failure", having to crash land because my engine died "by accident", managing to get to the next swedish airfield and live the rest of the war in peace.

with family:
telling my wife and children to move to a nice place somwhere in the countryside of Westphalia, sign up with Luftwaffe, being an engineer, die somewhere in Russia later in war because i was moved to a Felddivision.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
Sven
