Attached are two photos of the same helmet & camo net: one top view and one inside view. How often was this kind of net used by the German's in WWII? I purchased the helmet and net from Germany approximately 20 years ago. The helmet is a M-40, repainted and fitted with a repro liner and strap. I used it here to show the net. PS - I have seen nets on German helmets in some war time photos - most vets that I have chatted with said that they had not used them. Allied net patterns are of larger net gauge.
