Anyone ever visit Hiroshima or Nagasaki?...

Post by L. Kafka »

I read the John Hersey book "Hiroshima" years ago. More recently, I read a book review about a Japanese man that had the bad luck to have been in Hiroshima and Nagasaki when [The Bomb hit each city, and the good luck to have survived both bad days.

Last year I happened to driving east on I-80 in Nevada when I spotted Wendover, Utah on a map. Remembering the the airfield was the site where B-29 crews trained for the Hiroshima and Nagasaki missions, I stopped to see if there was a museum. There is a museum at Wendover in this regard. If you are ever on I-80 in this area, Wendover airfield museum is worth a look.
"What are they going to do, send me to Vietnam?"
A oft heard GI refrain in Vietnam in '68.
