To "commemorate" the occasion - the BBC today put this up on the Net. Although the text has been freely available, the actual speech itself apparently hasn't been for some time...

Personally, I think it's one of the saddest bits of spoken English you will ever listen to; spoken by a man who, in the end, found out he really was a nothing standing against the tides of history - you can hear that soul-shattering realisation in his voice.
