Maybe you should try to call Heimdal. The phone number is :

00 33 231 51 68 68

Otherwise, I suppose Amazon will get the copies very soon.
Best wishes and thanks a lot for your fidelity,
Charles

I have finished reading Volume 3 of Dictionnaire de la Waffen-SS. This is a very good book and the multitude of new photos will make this book interesting even for those not fluent in the French language. A particularly impressive set of photos appears in the section of the 21st Division that the author sourced from ECPAD, a French photo archive. The author made good use of other photo collections that are generally unknown to researchers.

Peter - Supplies of Vol 3 appear to be scarce at present for some odd reason. I see that Amazon in France still has three copies available.

I agree, it is a very nice book. It covers the 14. to the 38. Divisionen, with more detail for some units than for others. The coverage includes many photos most readers won't have seen before. I'm in the special position of having provided a number of photos for the book, as well as having visited NARA, where I scanned many of the same photos that Charles uses in this book. However, the material on 24. WGD, in particular was mostly new to me, as was the 21. WGD material that John mentioned. The 18. SS-FPGD photos were also new, though not of the same quality as the Skanderbeg and Karstjäger ones.

This Dictionnaire volume 3 will gradually become available in North America, and the rest of the world. It was printed as recently as December 2011, so it is just a matter of the boats crossing the right oceans with the books for distributors. Once this happens, it will be well worth the purchase for those who like to see new Waffen-SS photos.

Hi Pimberg,

My books are difficult to find outside Europe because of its complicated delivery organisation. Moreover, 3,400 copies only have been printed that is why the book becomes unavailable in a so short period of time.

Thank you ! Volume 4 is nearly ready now. This one is my favorite volume since it concerns mainly units on which nothing has been written yet.
