My father, Ltn. Herbert Winkler, was part of the UffzSchule Striegau near Breslau. The UffzSchule was sent to the Festung Breslau in late 1944 and became a part of the Waffen-SS Rgt. Besslein. I would like to have a contact with the former Adjudant of Hptm Sommer, Oberltn. ?? or his family or any other person who knows something about my father or the last days of the Bataillon Sommer in May 1945 in Breslau. I already know the books of Ahlen etc. and the manuscript of Sommer in the Bundesarchiv. In the end, my father lead the 1st Kompanie of the Bataillon. Thanks a lot.
