On November 4th, 1944 the brigade was significantly modified. The two cavalry regiments added a (tmot) regimental staff company that contained a signal platoon (3 LMGs), a (mot) reconnaissance platoon (8 LMGs), a pioneer platoon (4 LMGs), a panzerjager platoon (3 7.5 cm Pak 40 and 3 LMGs), and a staff platoon (1 LMG). each of the battalion staffs of the cavalry regiments added a panzerzerstorer platoon (18 Panzerschreck and 1 LMG). The cavalry squadrons raised the number of LMGs to six.

The artillery battalion was organised into the 869th Artillery Regiment. The 425th Artillery Battalion, with three RSO batteries ( 4 10.5 cm leFH and 2 LMGs each) was assigned and reorganised into two batteries ( 6 10.5 cm leFH and 4 LMGs each). It was apparently stripped of its RSOs. A second artillery battalion was organised with two batteries ( 6 10.5 cm leFH and 4 LMGs each).

The 177th Sturmgeschutz Brigade was replaced by the 69th Panzerjager Battalion. Initially this had a staff and (mot) staff company (1 Stug and 1 LMG), two Sturmgeshcutze Companies (later three), each with 10 Stugs and 12 LMGs, and a (mot) Supply Company ( 3 LMGs).

The 3rd Heavy Cavalry Battalion lost its anti-tank rifles, and the half-track company was reduced from 49 to 43 LMGs. The 69th Cossack Battalion was detached. The (tmot) telephone company had its armament reduced to (4 LMGs) and the (mot) radio company was reduced to (3 LMGs). The remainder of the units had their number of LMGs halved.

The 177th Sturmgeschutz Battalion became a brigade on June 10th, 1944, and on 9th August, 1944, it became the 69th Panzerjager Battalion. On January 6th, 1945 the 3rd Cavalry Brigade had a theoretical strength of 11,333 men, including 953 Hiwis (Hilfsfreiwilliger, or Russian volunteers). The strength figures for staff include srength of staff companies if no separate figure is given for staff company.
