Hitler's language skills?

Post by Pat D »

What languages did AH speak? Have never seen any indication that he was bilingual but in the latest issue of ATB, he was described as conversing with some French people "without an interpreter" that he knew from WWI during a battlefield tour in 1940. Apparently he spoke French or did they speak German? Thanks

Yes,
Both AH and old Benito spoke several languajes, this subject was touched in the old feldgrau forum a few months back, and i am glad to report you last week saw a Color/sound film of AH and Benito speaking both german and italian mixed , they were in AH bavarian retreat. maybe 1942.

seems AH learnt italian while young in Austria, and benito spoke spanish too.
