Great photos Raúl M! Thanx for sharing. I especially like the last one - Katharinaberger, what a view!beautiful vista, i guess not too much has changed since then.Such a wonderful old pics with the depiction of settlements, hills, forests are rather rare. Just nature and nothing more(without warfare, infantry, armor)-i assume these pics are in scarcity especially with good scenery and foreshortening.

Hello to all :D; something more about the Sudetes crisis.....................

The 7 ID in 1938 during the annexation of the Sudetenland.

Zone I (Böhmerwald) which should be occupied between October 01 and 02, 1938. Strážný / Kuschwarda - Vimperk / Winterberg.

20 Sep 1938 (Grafenau): Yesterday evening at 17:00 hours we arrived here after a long journey of 12 hours.

28 Sep 1938 (Grafenau): From Monday we are back in Grafenau, but tomorrow morning around 02:00 hours we will march towards Strážný / Kuschwarda.

October 2, 1938: Since 24 hours ago we had Czech soil beneath our feet. The invasion was very fast for me. I was alone with my car still at Freyung when my company was marching toward the border. At dusk, at 19:00 hours, I moved ahead at full steam..... In this town [Strážný / Kuschwarda] most residents had already fled from the Czech soldiers. So here there are only soldiers. We quartered taking care of any act related to the Communists. At night guard in the car with a gun ready to shoot ...

Hello to all :D; something more about the Sudetes crisis.....................

The 7 ID in 1938 during the annexation of the Sudetenland.

October 2, 1938 (Next): Now the infantry march through the town and are greeted joyously by the Sudeten people who have returned. For us the war goes very, very quiet because the Czechs have left a few hours before we even cross the border. Except for some trees traversed on the road we find no other obstacles. Several shops and the post office, which were attacked before their withdrawal, have been left in ruins ... "

Hello to all :D; last part.....................

The 7 ID in 1938 during the annexation of the Sudetenland.

October 14, 1938: It was issued an order preventing us for buying any items except food, beverages and snuff. I have yet to buy 4 pairs of shoes, because they are really cheap. The new currency ratio 1:8 has been very unfavorable to us, before it was 1:10 then we had 10 crowns for each RM. People here are very badly paid, for example an artisan earns an average salary of about 30 RM per hour ".....

Hello to all :D; another history dealing with this topic............

Mechanized troops in the incorporation of the Sudetenland.

For the annexation of the Sudetenland, the XVI AK (Mot) under General Guderian, had subordinated the 1 Pz and the 13 and 20 ID (Mot). Guderian was to occupy the Area III (Egerland), the action was planned in three stages; since October 3, 1938: the 13 ID (Mot) was to occupy Asch, Eger and Franzensbad, since October 4, 1938: the 1 Pz was to occupy Karlsbad and on October 05 of 1938, the three divisions would complete the occupation up to the line of demarcation.

On October 02 the Army Corps Command moved to Plauen and the annexation began on October 03. That day Guderian waited for Hitler on the border near Asch and informed him about the operations.

Armoured reconnaissance vehicles standing on the border of the Reich at Schirnding to cross the frontier on October 03, 1938. Inthe lead a Panzerspähwagen Sd Kfz 231 (6x6) and behind a Funkwagen Sd Kfz 232 (6x6). By date and area I guess they were from the 13 ID (Mot) of the XVI AK (Mot).
