I wonder if you could give me some help on these photos. They are my great Uncles.

First is Franz.... Seems to me from the cut of his tunic and the mystery insignia above his left ear he may have been in a gebirg unit?

Then comes Maximillian. I think regular heer?

Franz is a Gebirgsjäger. That insignia on the side of his Feldmütze is a metal Eidelweiss.

Max is regular Heer.
