Two quetsions for the wise and well-informed:
1: Can anyone give me details of von Reichenau's swimming of the Vistula at the beginning of the Polish Campaign in '39?
2: In '39 von Reichenau commanded 10th Army, how many men were under his command?
TIA, Guderian

Re: 1939 Poland, Reichenau, 10th Army and swimming the Vistula
Hi Guderian,
Since no one seemed to be interested in trying to answer your question I thought I would at least take a stab at the number of men. I did not have a total available so I did this the hard way. I had to total all the individual units together. This included the combat and non-combat units plus the Luftwaffe units under the 10th Army's command on September 1.
Here is the grand total: 292,733 men. This number reflects the authorized strength of all units.
Hope this helps, Bill
