WW2 movie identification

Post by panzermahn »

Hello folks

Need help again in trying to remember and identify another WW2 movie which I watched back in the 80s (around 1986/1987 when I was just a 5 year old kid :P).

- Movie is in black and white/color? (I think it should be color if I am not mistaken)
- British army characters
- Should be in European theater of operations if I am not mistaken
- Starting scene was a marching scene in the village and I still recall the march tune led by the British officer, "1-2-3-4, 1-2"..I know there are some military cadence, but I remembered the most was the "1-2-3-4, 1-2"
- Ending scene, the same marching scene, but the soldiers were injured and in bandaged/slings, but when the British officer leads them again with the same march tune, all of the surviving soldiers, were spirited again and march with pride

Could anyone remembered what this WW2 movie based on my vague remembrances?

Many thanks
