Hello: Mark Flowers here in Eugene, Oregon about 110 miles south of Portland in the Willamette Valley. I've been poking around this web forum, as well as the Axis History Forum, for a couple of months and registered a couple of days ago. I served 21 years and a couple of months in the US Army, and am retired. I lived in Germany for about 15 years, eleven as a kid growing up and then four as a soldier. I still have good friends in Germany and go back every couple of years. My wife and I were there in June. We visited Bad Kissingen, Würzburg, and the Rhön.
I am deeply interested in German history, as well as its language and culture. I got bitten many years ago by the World War II bug and was fortunate to buy a copy of "Die Ritterkreuzträger der Waffen-SS" by Ernst-Günther Krätschmer in 1983. Many books have come and gone out of my library over the years, but this one holds mz enduring interest.

Hi Mark and welcome to Feldgrau from a fellow Oregonian. I believe that you will find many things to like here. Krätschmer's Ritterkreuzträger book is very good. I know his son Gundo.

Hi everyone!
I joined this board a few days ago, when i was searching information about WW2 veterans on the net. My interest in WW2 started early in school,
mostly because it takes a very big part of the historical education in german schools. My newerly grown interest depends on my grandfather who
served in WW2. That was never a thing to discuss in my family, so i only know a small parts of his time in the war.
I hope i will take place in some good discussions, find a lot of information - and maybe i get the chance to give some information back to the community.
greets from germany

Hello all,
I’m Craig and I am from across the pond on that small island of Britain. I have always been keen on WW2 and its history, right from when I was a small kid. I used to build models and do a bit of wargaming, but now I play with big boys toys and do WW2 German re-enacting!!
Ex-military (Royal Engineers - 9 years, and I am now... using your Terminology.. in law enforcement (or police officer -19 years)
I love trawling various sites to research my hobby. Great site by-the-way!
