US Army Department of Military History pamphlets

Post by panzermahn »

Hello

In the early 1950s, the US Army Department of Military History asked several German generals and officers to wrote about their experience in the Eastern Front against the Soviets. I know some are published in the AHF forum but do they have any pamphlet on Defense against Cavalry Attack and Defense against Human Wave Attacks?

Many thanks for any help

I dont see a pamphlet with that title. Do you have a # for it ?

I think the only pamphlets online were the anti-partisan ones, 20-243, and 20-260.

I think the one on cold weather ops was also available, but I'm not sure from where.

Hello Tom and Mad Dog

I know that the Operations in Encircled Pockets, Combat in Swamps, Defense Tactics against Breakthrough, Airborne Operations, Warfare in Far North were published at this link

http://www.history.army.mil/html/booksh ... erPer.html

But I wonder if there is a list of military pamphlets written by the Germans for US Army Center of Military History? I am particularly interested in defense tactics against cavalry attack (Soviet Cossacks in mind) and Human-Wave attack.

Many thanks

I guess I was out of date. Thanks for the link.

Try this for a link to the FMS studies

http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/Germany/FMS/index.html

I think the pamphlet descriptions are near the end (page 111).
