Torpedo Issue Date
Does anyone know when the 53.3cm G7e T2 torpedo went into service and was issued to U-boats. All I can find is it went into service in 1939 but not when. All sources say it was the standard torpedo during the war, but a few references I've seen say that they started with the 53.3cm G7a T1 steam powe...

Did it replace all torps or were a few carried to be loaded in special cases? Could they be fired from the stern tubes??? I don't have an edi...

I think after Pearl Harbor and with the undeclared war against the U-boats already going on it would have been just a formality to get approval to declare war on all the Axis Powers. There was no need in joining the Allies and fighting in the Pacific with GB, and then leaving them to struggle agains...

The 22nd Infantry Division was the first to be designated as such and the Heer fought to keep control of it as Goring wanted it transferred to the Luftwaffe. They took part in the actions in Holland landing on airfields. Being green compounded with the resistance and confusion at the airfields they ...

Well thanks for pointing out I was wrong even though I'm still not sure what I was wrong about. I said I've seen three ways for Soviet tanks to be designated in books when they were command tanks. I wasn't stating those designations were correct, I actually was asking which one was closest to the So...

Soviet Designations
I've come across multiple ways for soviet command tanks to be designated. I've seen TU, (U) and (V) following the model to designate it as carrying a radio. Anyone have an idea which one would be the closer to the Soviet designation, and not made up by other countries post war to identify tanks.

Thanks for the info given. Does anyone else have more specifics on Command Tanks in the Allied use. I've found info on OP tanks that the British used which had no guns and from what I've read they were given to artillery officers and senior officers. The US I've read made command tanks by removing t...
