one thing that's been overlooked is servicability. On average 60% of planes were available for combat on a daily basis. If more planes were produced surely that would mean more were available for day to day operations without having affect on fuel or crews available...

If more planes are available and you use them how can it not influence the fuel situation? To a lesser extent if you have more planes and move them to the front that's going to use fuel also.
