Panzer regiment 2

The Panzer Regiment 2 (16th PD) has still some active members. The best is to contact the 16th Pz Div Association and ask who took over. They are listed in the Kameraden Magazin.

photo's of the meeting

Uli,

I just received a few, and not the best quality, I'm going to upgrade them, and add them to my new link on my website. It was evening, and so the one who took the photo's didn't have the best camera with him.

Finally we started off with the new Association of Stalingrad veterans. The first meeting was held in Limburg, and the new Association counts over 70 Stalingrad veterans. On the meeting itself, were about 30 veterans and family, and the ones who are helping to get the new Kameradschaft on its feet. ...

December 2007 - Battle of the Bulge - ceremonies

Again like every year on the North Shoulder we will - with Military support - have a wreathlaying ceremony along the monuments of the units that fought at the so called Losheim Gap. This year will be special, as the 90 year old former Captain of the Anti Tank Company of the 38th Inf Rgt of the 2nd I...

A German WWII veteran (Paratrooper) on AFN

A few weeks ago, during one of my Staffrides - I often invite a German veteran to tell his story of the battle he was involved in - I had a group of Dutch Warrant Officers and this time the AFN (Armed Forces Network) came over to film this part of the Staffride where the German Paratrooper (3rd Fall...

Stalingrad veterans

There a still quit a number around. We just tried to start up a new Stalingrad veterans organisation, and from the old group + the ones who never were with the old group, we have a count of about 150 (roughly) alive. A good number of them came back from POW time, Though most of the books are in Germ...

schw. Panzerjäger Abt. 525

Buon Giorno Signore,

since many years I have a complete story + pictures of a veteran who was with this unit. He was with 2nd Company, after that with a Beute Unit with the 101st Jäger Division. Though I can't find any entries that he has been in Italy, maybe you can send me a PM.

Grazie!

On this very moment I'm in touch with people in the USA to make a film about the Joachim Stempel's books in Stalingrad. We have been discussing it when he was alive, and i think in two year we start with it,

Frundsberg vet's

There are still quit a number of Frundsberg veterans arround, but because of the negative way they were treated as a Waffen-SS unit since the lat 60 years, they won't come out in open easily. I knew Godau very well, I thought he died in the meantime. Also the Kameradschaft of the Frundsberg was spli...

BoB

It is not that 'now it stands for the Battle of the Bulge', if you talk to US vet's who fought there, it exist over 60 years. Same for the BoB 'Battle of Britain', guess if you would call Battle of Berlin, BoB, that is also a given name. So nothing new
