Walter Schug, who took part in the Westerplatte fightings as leader (Komp.Fhr.) of the 9.E.M.A.A. later became CO of U-86.

Hello Tom As far as I remember Bills question he talked about surrendered uboats, not captured ones. But anyway it doesn't play a role. The crew list of U-505 is one, particularely in the US, of the best known of all. K.F. wasn't on U-505. @ Beershark Confused by what? A row of crazy letter groups? ...

Hello Jim As there had been just five u-boats surrendered to US units, and if Karl Feuchter was indeed a crew member of one of them, its quite easy to find out his boat. He is not listed on U-234, U-858, U-873 and U-1228. So he should have served on U-805 under the command of BERNADELLI. This is the...
