Re: Panzer IVG, when was the 7,5cm KwK 40 L/48 used?
Very helpful, thanks. Do you may also know why there is such a long time between the KwK L/48 and the StuK L/48? According to "The Spielberger German Armor & Military Vehicles Series Vol.II Sturmgeschütz & Its Variants" the first StuK L/48 were produced in June 1942, I guess it did...

Reinforcements for Stalingrad, 7.PzD, 302., 320. & 335.ID
Hi I'm searching for specific informations about the following units that went to the Stalingrad area as reinforcements: 7. Panzer-Divison: Does anyone know when they got the order to move to the Eastfront? I know they are near Schachty on 28.12.42(can see it on map) but on a map from the West(7.12....

Panzer IVG, when was the 7,5cm KwK 40 L/48 used?
Hi Yes this is interesting me, the late Panzer IVG are said to have used the 7,5cm KwK 40 L/48 instead of the L/43 but when was the L/48 used in the normal production of the Panzer IVG? The gun seems to have been ready by August 42 for testing and till now the only info I found is that it was used f...

Armies of the Stalingrad Front (61., 62. & 63.)
Hi I'm interested in the deployment of the armies of the Stalingrad Front that defended inside the Don arc, these are the 61., 62. & 63. Reserve Armies. What I would like to know is, did they form a defense line or were they advancing to meet the Germans? If they formed a defense line, when was ...

Re: Searching info on Werfer-Regiment & schwere Werfer-Regiment
In addition to my former post, does anyone know what the 21cm Werfer replaced?
The 15cm in the normal Werfer regiments, the 28/32cm in the schw. Werfer regiments or the 15cm in the schw. Werfer regiments?

Searching info on Werfer-Regiment & schwere Werfer-Regiment
I'm interested in the TOE of the Werfer & schwere Werfer regiments Best I found till now is: http://www.wwiidaybyday.com/kstn/kstnartilleriemain.htm To bad that the page only shows the very early: KStN 614 Nebelwerferbatterie (mot) from 1.2.1941(using 10-cm Nebelwerfer 40) and the very late: KSt...

Romanian MG Brigades?
Hi
Does anyone know something about an MG brigade attached to 3rd Army in 1942?
I can't even find an MG Brigade formation at all for the Romanians, so maybe it was something smaller.

Romanian mountain corps & 4th mountain division - Crimea
Hi
Can anyone tell me if the Romanian mountain corps & the 4th mountain division stayed on the Crimea from Summer 1942 till the end of 1942?
Looking at some map material that covers 1942 it looks like but what about 1943(first two months)?

Hochgebirgs-Jäger-Bataillone 1 & 2 arrival in the East
Hi
Does anyone know when exactly the Hochgebirgs-Jäger-Bataillone 1 & 2 arrived in the Don/Caucasus area?
Both were attached to the 1. Gebirgs-Division but that unit was about to moved south past the Don shortly after they were formed so does anyone know when they reach the 1. Gebirgs-Division?

5th Romanian Corps formed from Romanian Cavalry Corps?
Hi Some map entries give me a headache, I hope someone a clarify this. I tried to track down when the 5th Romanian corps arrived in Summer 1942 at the Heeresgruppe Süd area. The map does show that it was transported there, instead I see that Romanian cavalry corps designated from early August on as ...

Re: 8th Motorized Division in 1942?
Oh sorry I should have been more precise, indeed I mean Romanian units.
Looks like the next evolved out of the former as the regiments used are identical, so it should only be the 8th Cavalry Division in 1942. Thanks for the link.

8th Motorized Division in 1942?
Hi Was an 8th Motorized Division operating in the Heeresgruppe Süd area between Summer 1942 and early 1943? Maybe operating the the German III Panzer-Korps? I can't find any evidence of this so I think this could maybe be a mix up with the 8th Cavalry Division that later evolved into the 8th Armored...
