Re: Condor Legion Panzer Organization
Joachim, I too am very interested in the Panzer-Lehr regiment that was established in 1940 and participated in the early phase of Barbarossa. There seems to be very little information about it available on line. The records for this unit and many others appear to have been destroyed on the bombing o...

Re: Kavallerie-Regiment 14.
It looks more like oberst Freidmund von Arnim than Oberst Philip Kleffel. Apparently the wrecks of these vessels have been located in 300 meters of water off the Greek coast. One ship has broken in 3 pieces spilling panzers onto the sea floor
I presume the wrecks would be protected as war graves but there would be a lot of excellent armour down there!

Dr. Dr. Johannes Mayer RKT oak leaves and swords
I have the tunic for an infantry Oberst that appears named to an Oberstleutnant Mayer and appears to be dated in either Mai 36 or Mai 38. Does anyone have any photos of Herr Mayer while he was an oberst? The tailor's label is for a high end Berlin tailor that had an office in Potsdam. For some reaso...
