Re: KTB OKW Band 1

Hi Richard,
Is this the same OKW KTB that Percy Schramm edited in 8 volumes?
Thanks -
Regards,
Doug

The Guy Sajer Follies Roll On (cont.)

My, my...well, there's one thing you have to remember about pigs and soldiers - both like to roll around in the mud. And if you want to roll around in the mud with us, you can't go crying if you get mud on you! So back to the topic at hand - for the dwindling number of Feldgrauians who still care an...

Re: Update to the Forgotten Soldier Movie

But why do that when Feldgrauians can go there themselves at http://www.imdb.com/? The only thing is that IMDB is often late with the news, so if there are any "late breaking" reports, they won't be found there.
Cheers,

Re: "The Forgotten Soldier" by Guy Sajer

Annelie, Great, then you're going to enjoy the show. It does get rather boring when only two "Guys" are arguing with one another. Where are the rest of the gang that used to take such an active role in the follies? Are they perhaps growing bored? I can sympathize with them - as you can tel...

The Guy Sajer Follies Roll On!

Greeting fellow Feldgrauians (or all 4 or 5 of us who actually give a s___ about this "Bead Game"), Well, things certainly are heating up, which is a good thing. Perhaps it may draw more interest to the subject --- which is good for lots of other reasons as well. I promise not to take myse...

Re: "The Forgotten Soldier" by Guy Sajer

Though I'm not a journalist and therefore limited to expressing myself in plain english (I was a soldier for 32 years, after all), I must say that Mr. Keating's thesis is interesting, but pure hogwash nonetheless (Websters: nonsense; balderdash; bunk) - that is to say, unconvincing. The SS theory ha...

Re: Update to the Forgotten Soldier Movie

To fellow Feldgrauians, I'll offer a couple of observations, based on my experiences thus far with the project. There are two competing goals that come into play whenever a book gets made into a film - the artistic and the monetary. First, is the story interesting? Does it inspire the director? Appa...

Re: Update to the Forgotten Soldier Movie

Hey John, That's OK - don't worry about it. I forwarded his name to my contact and was politely told don't do that again. But I did try, at least. When the time is right, they'll announce a casting call - and when they do, I'll provide the link to the agency (which I don't have yet) and then they ca...

Re: Update to the Forgotten Soldier Movie

Sorry, nothing new here for now - for the fans of the book, I'll announce any new developments about the TFS movie when I hear of them. Until then, you'll have to be patient. And please, no more emails or PMs asking me to get you a part in the movie - I'm not a bloody casting agent, only someone wit...

Re: Update to the Forgotten Soldier Movie

To the moderator, Recommend that you start a new thread, as the intent of this one was to bring out the latest reports on the status of The Forgotten Soldier movie project, not to re-engage on the book. For those who want to rehash this rather stale and shop-worn discussion on the book itself, pleas...

Re: Update to the Forgotten Soldier Movie

Mainly from FBI and Interpol reports, Yuri. I do a lot of reading at work here in Quantico... Now, back to the movie! Actually, that's all the news I have - should I have more to report, I'll let you all know. Also - if anyone out there wants to be involved in this film, please do not contact me - I...

Re: Update to the Forgotten Soldier Movie

Phylo,
Yes, crime in Eastern Europe is a significant issue - and with the current economic turmoil, it will probably get worse. That includes Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine as well. I'm sure that any company, even film companies doing business over there, has got to be mindful of that.

Re: Update to the Forgotten Soldier Movie

Hi - I have no idea who they'll cast for the extras, but if the filming is going to be done in Eastern Europe (Poland & Czech Republic), then Verhoeven & Co. will probably hire local talent. The young men in that region are generally slim of build & fair haired, plus they work for peanut...

Re: Update to the Forgotten Soldier Movie

Yes, it will be in English - no, Tom Cruise is not associated with it in any way, shape or form.
Cheers!
