No, I/26 was with PGD GD in the East. PR26 with 26PD in Italy had II/26 with Panzer IV. PR26 also had two companies of Flamm Pz. III mixed with Italian Semovente 7,5cm and 10,5cm.

Well William, as 26PD occasionally had I(V)/PR4 (13PD) under command and it was an early equipped unit, D, A and G. The unit was basically an Army Troops unit until Feb.1945 when it was retitled I(V)/PR26. Only 2 companies equipped. I(V)/PR26 was under 25PD in Sept/Oct 1943 (No action). Under comman...

Some other units are mentioned in Norman Davies - Rising '44' 1) Elements of 19th PD passed through the city the first week of Aug. and some got caught in the ongoing battle. Armoured column of the 3rd Company/73rd Hanoverian reg./19th PD suffered heavy losses and occupied the Main Station (Central...

First employment I've come across is with 1SSPD. 120 MP43 on 31stDec1943 (From monthly report). Second is in that super pic. with army infantrymen of 131ID I think, passing in front of Panther's of II/SSPR5 (under 4PD) in March or April of 1944 at Kovel. Adolf was not keen and that was before end in...

Err William, Nashorn were not divisional equipment. 1PD had one for a while in 1944, but that had probably fallen off the back of a tank transporter, lol.

Yes I(V)/4 (13PD) was deployed in Italy from Anzio time 1944. It was often under 26PD but on and off. They were army troops and were u/c. Korps commands also. When retitled as I(V)/26 they were only in the strength of 2 companies. The original I(V)/26 was with PGD GD for most of 1944 and then retitl...

I don't know why you have got no help. You state plenty of units. Any Ersatz units are Replacement Army and not Field Army so unlikely active service. IR22 is a completely different matter. An infantry regiment in 1 Infantry Division, the senior infantry division of the the German Army. In Army Grou...

Sources are the monthly reports (Zustandsberichte) of PD's sent to Inspector General of Panzer Troops monthly.

I don't know of any other units equipped with 8,8cm Famo's. There were 88's on half tracks early in the War but those were Panzer Jaeger.

I'm pretty sure the first KStN's (fg) were issued 1Apr44. They were'nt applied straight away in all cases by any means. It was a Guderian measure to save manpower and vehicles. Most or all of World's Armies have followed the principle since WWII.

I love 8PD. The least you hear about a division, the better it was. 4PD was the ace, they must have held the record for NOT losing equipment.
