Do you have Commander, roster and operative history beginning fm 5/1/1944?
I have an amlethical doubt: as this division was originated fm 13 Luftwaffe-feld-division, was put under Wehrmacht control, and was formed with Estnische-Grenzschutz-Regimenter 2 - 4 - 5 and 6 (formally part of Ordnungspolizei/BdO Ostland/KdO Reval), where have we to consider part of?

Division fought against soviet`s 8th Army from late springs to autumn 1944 on line of river Narva - from Vasknarva (on South at outlets of river Narwa to lake Peipus) to rivers Porunij and farther in direction of town Putki (on Nord). Regiments of Grenzschutz became decimated, and remainders one included to 20. SS-Div.
2. About estonian border guards regiments.
a) From Ordinance Legion-Oberführer Johannes Soodla, Inspector-General Estonian Legion (Tallin 31.01.1944:
(…) 1. The inductees and volunteers will be formed into three Estonian Border Guard Infantry Regiments.
2. The Regiments will be formed as follows:
a) Estonian Border Guard Infantry Regiment from the Narva, Viru, Jarva, Tallin and Harju districts of the Home Guard (from respective provinces and cities).
b) Estonian Border Guard Infantry Regiment from the Tartuma, Vorumaa, Valgamaa and Petserimaa districts of the Home Guard (from respective provinces and cities).
c) Estonian Border Guard Infantry Regiment from the Parnumaa, Sakalamaa, Laanemaa and Saaremaa districts of the Home Guard (from respective provinces and cities).
3. The formation of the Regiments will be carried out by the Regimental Commanders. The respective Home Guards Commanders will assist the Regimental Commanders with all the resources at their command.
Until the arrival of the Regimental Commanders, the following will deputize:
1st Regiment - Capt. Vaska, in Rakvere
2nd Regiment - Lt.Col. Jaanson in Tallin
3rd Regiment - Maj. Lilleleht, in Parnu.

If I'm not wrong the Ia was equal to that position of the Ops Officer in the US Army it's mean First Staff Officer (Primer Oficial de Estado Mayor in spanish); the Intel Officer was called Ic and Ib was the never praised Logistic Off. The IIa was the Adjutant. My two "guitas" (coins) in spanish. All the best. Raúl M .
