I have one last request on discs.
This one is marked 3.Kp./Inf/Ers.Batl.397 and Blgr.A 5279 which I assume is blood group A and ID number 5279.
Can anyone tell me the background of this unit? appears to be a replacement unit. Where were they in the war??

Infanterie-Ers.Btl. 397 was formed on 27/8/1939 (3. Welle) in Berlin-Ruhleben. 23/6/41 moved to Rawitsch in the Wartegau. 20/9/42 formed in Ers. and Res.Btl. the Ers.Btl was moved to Berlin-Spandau.
Grenadier-Ers.Btl. 397 was formed on 7/11/1942. 7/2/1943 moved to Tiborlager around Schwiebus.
"Unterstellung": Div. 153; 23/6/41 Div. 143; 1/10/42 Div. 463; 7/2/43 Div. 433
