In the current issue of WWII magazine.. it has an article on a Springfield 1903 rifle modification that had a Browning Automatic Rifle magazine inserted vertically from under the weapon where the original 5-round internal magazine would be. Any stats on this weapon?

You will find that most bolt action rifles had experimental magazines to increase the capacity. I have seen a 98 mauser with what looks like a 30 round magazine !!
It is unlikely that it was anything other than an experiment.
