Hello all,
I am looking for everything about the battle that took place on the "canal de la Basse Colme", east of Bergues (4 km south est of Dunkirk) between 31/05/40 and 03/06/40.
I already have very detailed accounts for the allied side but almost nothing about the german one. I just know that it was the ID 18 that fought there.
Maps, photos, books references, links... any help would be greatly appreciated !
Thank you in advance
Jean

hi,
check out this website,
http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... IR53-R.htm
site is in german but maybe you can get some more info for research. both IR53 and IR 11 were involved in battle near duenkirchen, both belonged to the 14 ID.
also involved was the 27 JG, of the Luftwaffe.
http://www.jg27.de/ ( again in german).
information is scarce however ..
