Nurnberg - Hungarian Artillery

I have been told that the Hungarian Artillery units defending Nurnberg in 1945 refused to surrender, fighting to the last. Can anyone collaborate this?
Seems they were a long way from home at that stage of the war.

Well I can't confirm anything, but they were probably a group of hastily organized Arrow Cross fanatics. I do know that thr Croatian government in exile was the last Axis Power in Europe to surrender

The Croatian Government surrendered in Austria between May 15th and May 17th, in order to escape the Soviets. I got this information from TANKS! at

Thanks. It sounds like Bleiburg. They surrendered to the British, who promptly handed them over to Tito's people, who shot most out of hand almost immediately and did a death march with the rest. It was another cossacks type episode. These were mostly regular army troops with, often, their families.

maybe that unit was with not communication at all...
and kept fighting till end.
