I wanted to introduce myself to everyone in case you have any questions related to the site. We're currently in a transition period, which will have some growing pains but will eventually be really good for this forum and the site.
I'm dedicated to revamping the entire site and adding additional content. The site has been neglected for a very long time and needs a lot of work.
For the moment, the focus will be on fixing problems and improving the user interface / design.
If you take a look at the feldgrau.com site, you'll see that I'm already working tirelessly to make this happen.
If you come across any errors with this board or the site feldgrau.com, please reach out to me here.
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Feldgrau Future - Moving Forward
It's amazing how much faster your site can be when unwanted bots/spiders are blocked.

Thanks Rand,
I've got a whole laundry list of things to do. I'll be at this for months.
Let me know if you have any request.

Re: Feldgrau Future - Moving Forward
Jim - Glad to hear that you have taken ownership of Feldgrau. I wish you every success. I recommend that you contact all current moderators, some of whom are no longer living, and determine their continued interest. If the interest is no longer there, they ought to be removed and replaced. It not encouraging to members who visit one of the forums and find that the listed moderator has not logged on to the site in over a year! I will continue as Mod for the two sites that I am responsible for, but no more.

Thanks Prosper. I'm literally working every day of the week on this site.

Good work Jim.
I love how friendly the folks at Feldgrau are. All WW2 forums have knowledgeable members, but Feldgrau's are more patient and understanding.

Thanks Dave. I'm still plugging away at cleaning up content on Feldgrau. Just finished upgrading this board last weekend.
Entire site redesign will probably come this summer.

Looking forward to new life of this forum.
Are you going to be keeping the biographies that were once
available? E.g. Rudi Salvermoser.
Rudi's biography was interesting in that he was born in Camden but
ended up having to serve in Germany. Rudi was also interviewed for
the video Tank Battles.

We won't be removing valuable content. It will just look better and be easier for us to manage. The only thing that will be removed is pages that are practically blank or have no value...like outdated news feeds from the 90s.

Re: Feldgrau Future - Moving Forward
That sounds good. I'm planning on attending the WW2 conference in New Orleans this November, so that could be a good option. I posted the information on the forum. I'm open to doing something in Europe also. I lived in Germany for 11 years and before that Italy. My Italian is better than my German.

Jim - Where did you live in Italy - Vicenza? My wife and I will be back in Italy next June, spending 3 weeks near Sorrento and in the Puglia area. I'll bet that you miss the good food.
