The difficult situation of this PanzerBefehlswagen III - Ausf. E1 belonging to the cmdr. of the II. Abteilung of a regiment (II01), allows us to appreciate a good (almost) plant view of the vehicle ............................

Panzerbefehlswagen - in action!

The Panzerbefehlswagen III Ausf K was the last in the series of command tanks based on the Panzer III, and the only one built with its main weapon of 5 cm intact. An order for 200 Panzerbefehlswagen Ausf K had been placed in the month of October 1941, but production was delayed twice. His frame type antenna had also been replaced by another standard to avoid rapid identification. Finally, 50 units were produced between December 1942 and February 1943 ..............................

Raul, a further feature of the "K" was that it didn't have a Panzer III turret but a Panzer IV turret fitted with the 5cm that you mention.
