Hi all,
I just watched the trailer for the new Lucas film Red Tails and saw what looked like small plane kill markings on the side of a BF109 under the canopy. The shot is about 2 minutes into the trailer and my question is; Did German pilots ever display victory markings this way? as far as im aware it was always done on the tail.
Considering the millions spent of special effects in Hollywood movies one would hope one day they could get it done right. Or am I just being too picky.

I noticed it, too. Not German practice, AFAIK.

Tens of millions spent on a movie are not passport for authenticity.Mike H wrote:Hi all,

By the way, what do you expect from a movie having such a subject ?

Here's an interesting site that tracks movie inaccuracies:

Having just gone through a trojan horse on my computer, I am not in the mood to take chances. The link has been removed from the post. IMDB also tracks inaccuracies in movies and is safe as far as I know.

Profound apologies to anyone who may have run into trouble with the link I posted. I had no issues whatsoever with it or I would not have shared it. Glad our moderators are proactive!

I deleted an identical comment yesterday. Or I thought I did. If I see this again, Florin will be out the door.
