Does anyone know anything about Kapitaenleutnant Heinz von Davidson?
He was commander of U-281 from 1943 till the end of the war.

I am the Journal Editor of the Clan Davidson Association and have been researching a German Naval Officer called Davidson who was mentioned in the Autobiography of Admiral Cunningham. I thought it was Heinz von Davidson of U281 but it turned out to be his cousin Hans von Davidson who was Captain of the destroyer Richard Beitzen from 1939 to 1943 and then was on the staff of Admiral Doenitz until the end of the war. Heinz von Davidson died in 2005 and Hans von Davidson in 2002. If anyone has any information about Captain Hans von Davidson during his time on Admiral Doenitz's staff I would be pleased to know. It appears that the family Davidson came from Aberdeenshire in the 18th. century and settled in East or West Prussia.
