Penal company 103
Penal company 103
This company was supposedly attached to the Nordland division during the battles around Narva. However very little info about them is known, if any at all? Perhaps one of you know better? What ive read online is that it was used in the battles during the summer of 1944 and distinguished themselves and got absorbed into a normal battalion.

Re: Penal company 103
I've found something in a book written by norwegian author Egil Ulateig: Jakten på massemorderne ( the hunt for the mass-murderers. )
A couple of pages tells of Bjarne Aronsen ( Norway ). He had to chose between a concentration-camp or a penal unit, and ended up in Sturmkompanie 103 in a training-camp in Tsjekkoslovakia.
When the russians broke the siege around Leningrad and Oranienbaum Sturmkompanie 103 were sendt there. In september 1944 the kompanie were at Pertatze outside the city Johvi where they obviously were overrun by a russian attck.
The kompanie consisted of soldiers from both Wehrmacht and Waffen SS, even civilians, and german volounteers.
