Hello to all :D; something more..................

Here another famous pilot who commanded the I./ St G 2 in Poland 1939.

Major Oskar Dinort led the second wave of 29 Stukas of Sturzkampfgeschwader 2 Immelmann which attacked the town of Wielun after the I./ St G 76 of Walter Sigel.

Hello to all :D; something more..................

Here another famous pilot who commanded the St G 77 in Poland 1939.

Oberstleutnant Günter Schwarzkopff flew with the "Legion Condor" and later led the first stuka formations in Celle 1935-36; Kitzingen 1936-37; Barth 1937-38 and Schweinfurt 1938-39. In Poland 1939 he was the first Kommodore of the St G 77. Promoted to Oberst was killed in action in France 1940 while leading a dive attack over the river Meuse on May 14 1940.

Oberleutnant von Dremming; anyone has more information about him or his career?.

Here another pilot who was decorated with the Iron Cross, 2º Class in 1939.

Oberleutnant Dietrich Hrabak was in command of the 1. / JG 76 in the Polish campaign

The I. / JG 76 stationed in Ottmütz, was also very active during the early days of the Polish Campaign in September 1939. On September 03, 1939 the group achieved its first victories in the campaign, but Oberleutnant Hrabak had to make an emergency landing after being hit in the engine of his Bf-109E and returned to his unit after 3 days trying to avoid being captured by Polish troops.

Here another well known Stuka pilot who earned the EK 2º Class in 1939.

Oberleutnant Gözpeter Vollmer later got his RKT as Staffelkapitän of the 1./ St G 2 in 1941.

Here another well known Stuka pilot who earned the EK 2º Class in 1939.

Hauptmann Graf Clemens von Schönborn-Wiesentheid, who led the II./ St G 77 from 01 May 1939 till 15 May 1940. Later he took over as Commander of the St G 77 from 15 May 1940 (after Oberst Günter Schwartzkopff death) till 20 July 1942.

Here an elusive pilot who earned the EK 2º Class in 1939.

Major Freiherr von der Bongart. I found a certain Oberstleutnant Hermann Freiherr von dem Bongart, who led the IV./ KG 55 from 10 Apr 1941 till 01 Sep 1941 before moving to III./K.G. 55 and leading it for a year. During 1943 he joined the staff of Luftflotte 3 as the Offizier für Sonderaufträge (special projects officer). In spring 1944 he was ordered to create a unit to conduct anti-partisan operations, and this would be known as Geschwader Bongart.

Here another pilot belonging to the 2./ JG 53, who earned the EK 2º Class in 1939.

On 30 September 1939 occurred the fiercest air fight since the outbreak of the war. At 12:00 hours five Fairey Battles of British 150 Squadron which were on a reconnaissance flight were attacked by eight Me-109s from the 2./JG 53, all five British aircraft were shot down. The air victories were credited to Oberleutnant Pingel, Unteroffizier Kaiser, Unteroffizier Kornatz, Stabsfeldwebel Prestele and Unteroffizier Wurmheller.

Here another pilot belonging to the 2./ JG 53, who earned the EK 2º Class in 1939.

Feldwebel Kaiser also took part in the fiercest air fight since the outbreak of the war which occurred on 30 September 1939. He scored a victory on that fight.

Here another Stuka pilot, who earned the EK 2º Class in 1939.

Hauptmann Heinrich von KLITZING was appointed as Commanding Officer of the III./ St.G 51 and led the Group against Warsaw in Sep 1939. He commanded the Unit till May 17 1940 when he was shot down by Hurricanes of Squadron No.151 in combat north of Landrecies, France, at 10:30 hours; with him was KIA BF Uffz Fritz Zander. The Ju-87B 6G+AD was totally destroyed. He had been promoted to Maj on May 09 1940.

Here another Stuka pilot, who earned the EK 2º Class in 1939.

Oberleutnant Herbert Meisel; in the following year (1940) as Hauptmann he led the I./ St G 77 in the Battle of Britain. He was KIA on August 18 , 1940, when his Ju-87 B-1 was shot down by RAF Hurricanes as his unit was attacking the aerodrome of Thorney Island. His machine crashed into the sea off Selsey.
