Post by philip turland »

This Dornier Do 217E-4, WNr.1225 & coded U5+AD came down at Cranford, a small village on the outskirts of Kettering. This aircraft of the Stab III/Kampfgeschwader 2 was shot down by F/Lt Lindsay Black (RNZAF) in a Spitfire Vb of No.485 Squadron during attack on Wellingborough, Northants, August 3rd 1942, killing all four crew members. Uffz Eugen Beyerer, Uffz Erich Huwald, Uffz Zerak and Gefr Frisch all now lie in the Deutsche Soldatenfriedhof Cannock Chase: Block 9. Row 6. Grave 35.

Sywell Aviation Museum have been donated several large pieces of this aircraft. We would like to set up a nice display of these parts together with photo's (if available) of the aircraft in question Does anyone have any pictures of this Dornier they wouldn't mind sharing with the museum.

thanks guys in anticipation of your help
